Usps priority tracking not updating
I refunded the buyer and filed an insurance claim with USPS for .49 shipping. We've had this happen several times with parcels marked, "Out for Delivery" and then never updated, simply because the carrier failed to scan it at delivery time.
Once a parcel is delivered, USPS has absolutely no way to update the parcel as "Delivered", even after carriers admit to making the error.
I refunded the buyer and filed an insurance claim with USPS for .49 shipping. I convinced her to wait until the following Friday and promised to refund if the box hadn't arrived. Not an hour later the buyer emailed me to tell me her mail person had just brought the package (I checked the tracking and it showed no movement). The buyer called Amazon and requested their card be recharged.
All during that week I called daily, working with the USPS (most especially an extremely nice woman in their "lost shipments" department).
My mistake, and a lesson learned to always insure and protect us .
I fell on my sword apologizing to the buyer and did an immediate refund.
In June of this year I got a message from the buyer saying "you won't believe what just showed up in my mailbox".
The buyer likely noticed USPS never updated and took full advantage of the situation. I had the same situation last week on an item purchased on Nov 8th. No updates since it went out for delivery on 11/12 but I'd be willing to bet it was received long ago.
I refunded the buyer and filed an insurance claim with USPS for .49 shipping. OP if this shipped via Priority it's got built in insurance of .
